EVALUATION The overall mission of the Lifelong Learning Project is to provide persons for whom English is a second language with educational services and information which will assist them in making a successful transition into the workplace, We will use a variety of statistical and task-related performance measures to evaluate our acheivement of this broad mission, Specifically we will be looking at the project objectives and performance measures set forth in section IV of the narrative. In order to gauge the success of our tutoring program we will count the number of students served through the program, the number of tutoring hours provided, and types of tutoring sought. These numbers will be compiled and compared to comparable figures for the prior year, We will count the number of new volunteers trained and the number of volunteer hours worked on behalf of the tutoring project. Again, these numbers wi 11 be compared to figures for the prior year, He will also track use of adult basic education and literacy software used in connection with the tutoring program, One of our objectives for the y;.)ar is to develop a structured system of setting goals with our students and tracking progress towards acheivement of those goals.
