EVALUATION <br /> The overall mission of the Lifelong Learning Project is to <br /> provide persons for whom English is a second language with <br /> educational services and information which will assist them <br /> in making a successful transition into the workplace, We <br /> will use a variety of statistical and task-related <br /> performance measures to evaluate our acheivement of this <br /> broad mission, Specifically we will be looking at the <br /> project objectives and performance measures set forth in <br /> section IV of the narrative. <br /> In order to gauge the success of our tutoring program we will <br /> count the number of students served through the program, the <br /> number of tutoring hours provided, and types of tutoring <br /> sought. These numbers will be compiled and compared to <br /> comparable figures for the prior year, We will count the <br /> number of new volunteers trained and the number of volunteer <br /> hours worked on behalf of the tutoring project. Again, these <br /> numbers wi 11 be compared to figures for the prior year, He <br /> will also track use of adult basic education and literacy <br /> software used in connection with the tutoring program, <br /> One of our objectives for the y;.)ar is to develop a structured <br /> system of setting goals with our students and tracking <br /> progress towards acheivement of those goals. Once in place, <br /> this tracking system should provide us with valuable, new <br /> information for determining the effectiveness of our tutoring <br /> program, <br />
