27
in Appendix B of the narrative. These include Refugee
Right~, the Texas Employment Commission, the Capitol Area
Rural Private Industry Council Employment Resources Program,
the Public Housing Authority, the City of San Marcos
Minorities Commission, the San Marcos High School GED testing
office and adult education department.
Our cooperating agency for the grant is the Ten County Adult
Education Co-Op headquartered in Georgetown, The Co-Op has
been worki~g with the library on adult education projects for
several years, The Co-Op also works in conjunction with the
San Marcos High School Adult Education Department. Co-Op
director Jack Gunlock has made a major financial commitment
to the project by providing us with a certified, bilingual
teacher to oversee the library's walk-in tutoring program.
He has also pledged to assist us in publicizing the program
and helping us select adult education software for the
tutoring program and materials for the JIC. A letter of
agreement signed by Mr, Gunlock and library director
Stephanie Langenkamp may be found in Appendix A of the
narrative,
Our work with the Lifelong Learning Project during the last
two years has enabled us to form very valuable partnerships
with other education and social service providers in the
area, Thanks to LSCA Title I funding, the library is now
regarded as a leader in serving the needs of cur
disadvantaged citizens. We look forward to receiving funding
for another year so that we can continue to build on this
success.
