<br /> SAN MARCOS PUBLIC LIBRARY <br /> LIFELONG LEARNING PROJECT COORDINATOR <br /> JOB DESCRIPTION <br /> JOB TITLE: Lifelong Learning Project Coordinator <br /> PURPOSE: To coordinate the tutoring and social <br /> services information program of the <br /> Lifelong Learning Project, To expand the <br /> library's publicity campaign in the ESL <br /> and Hispanic communities, and to develop <br /> the Job Information Center as a new <br /> component of the Lifelong Learning <br /> Project, <br /> RESPONSIBILITIES: To recruit tutors and students for a <br /> literacy, GED and ESt tutoring program <br /> and to expand the program's walk-in <br /> hours, To train volunteer tutors and <br /> match them with students. To assess <br /> student needs, abilities, and goals, To <br /> introduce students to available library <br /> resources and services and to provide <br /> them with referrals to outside agencies <br /> when appropriate, To develop a Job <br /> Information Center and to prepare a <br /> bilingual vocational and employment <br /> resource guide. To provide students and <br /> job seekers with a resume writing and <br /> evaluation service. To give seminars <br /> on USE: of the 1 ibl.-ary as a job <br /> information resource. To publicize in <br /> both English and Spanish all grant <br /> related activities, To prepare <br /> performance reports and compile grant <br /> related statistics. <br /> QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a Bachelor's Degree and <br /> excellent communication and writing <br /> skills. Must have organizational <br /> abilities and initiative, Hust be <br /> faffiiliar with the San Marcos community. <br /> Teaching experienèe and ability to speak <br /> Spanish are preferred, <br /> REPORTS TO: Public Services Supervisor <br /> HOURS: Forty hours per week, to be arranged, <br /> SALARY: $8,79 per hour plus benefits. <br />
