RESOLUTION NO. 89- 21 OF THE WATER WORKS BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SAN ANTONIO AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN INTERLOCAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT AMONG THE CITIES OF SAN ANTON 10, NEW BRAUNFELS, AND SAN MARCOS, THE CITY PUBLIC SERVICE, AND OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS TO UNDERTAKE A COOPERATIVE EFFORT TO DEVELOP A PROGRAM TO PROPERLY MANAGE THE WATERS OF THE EDWARDS AQUIFER; AND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF A MINIMUM OF $5,000.00 AS THE INITIAL DEPOSIT OF THE WATER WORKS BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO. WHEREAS, the City of San Antonio and other political subdivisions of the State of Texas are interested in and affected by proposed legislation for ground water management; and WHEREAS, the political subdivisions involved desire to establish a mechanism to provide support and cooperation during the upcoming legislative session of an informational and educational effort to inform the public, including elected officials, of regional water planning management methods and needs; and WHEREAS, the availability of a water supply of adequate quantity and quality is essential for all purposes, including providing water service to the customers of the Water Works Board of Trustees of San Antonio; and WHEREAS, an Interlocal Cooperation Ag reement has been executed by the City of San Antonio pursuant to Ordinance No. 68549 and such Interlocal Cooperation Agreement is authorized by Tex. Rev. Civ. Stat. Ann. Art. 4413( 32c); and WHEREAS, the Board is desi rous of participating in a cooperative effort to provide information to the public at large, including elected public officials, related to regional water planning and management methods appropriate to protect the Edwards Aquifer; now, therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WATER WORKS BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SAN ANTON 10 : R89-21
