To what extent does the infrastructure oroiect diversify the local economic base? <br /> The major economic base of the area is public (Southwest Texas State Unitversity) <br /> with some commercial and light industrial firms operating in San Marcos. The location of <br /> CTEC in San Marcos points to the movement to diversify the type of industry being <br /> pursued in the area. The infrastructure being proposed will enable the City of San Marcos <br /> to offer CTEC water services in a timely manner. <br /> CTEC will be operated as an independent company manufacturing the latest in <br /> advanced technology aircraft engine components. CTEC will make an initial investment of <br /> $20 million in the San Marcos plant including facilities, land and equipment. By 1995, <br /> CTEC anticipates that their annual payroll will exceed $5 million. <br /> 5. Intrastate Relocation Restriction <br /> <br /> The intrastate relocation restriction would not be applicable to the infrastructure <br /> project. CTEC has no other plants in the State of Texas. <br />
