<br /> BIOGRAPHY <br /> Dr. James W. Davidson <br /> President <br /> CTEC <br /> Chula Vista, Calif. <br /> Dr. James W. Davidson was named president of the newly formed <br /> joint venture CTEC in March 1989. (crEC, created in March 1989 to <br /> develop and manufacture composite materials engine components for <br /> the aerospace industry, is a joint venture of General Electric <br /> Aircraft Engines and Rohr Industries, Inc.) <br /> Davidson, responsible for CTEC's overall operations, was <br /> previously director, engine components, at'Rohr, a position he had <br /> held since joining the company in May 1985. <br /> PrevioUSly, he was director of research and development for <br /> Hitco's Fabricated Composites Division for five years and also <br /> held management and engineering positions with Ameron and North <br /> American Rockwell. His primary experience is in aerospace <br /> composites. <br /> Davidson earned his bachelor's (1966), master's (1969) and <br /> doctoral (1974) degrees in engineering structures and materials <br /> from the University of California, Los Angeles. He has published <br /> several articles and lectured on composites and is a member. of the <br /> Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering <br /> and Tau Beta Pi, a national engineering honor society. <br /> A Santa Monica, Calif., native, Davidson now lives in <br /> Encinitas (San Diego area) with his wife Charlyn.
