<br /> SAN MARCOS CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREQU POLICIES <br />CONVENTION AND VISITOR BUREAU SERVICES PROVIDED: <br />------------------------------------------------ <br />As a part of the administrative contract the San Marcos Chamber of <br />Commerce manages the development and implementation of the <br />Conventions and Visitors Bureau programs and activities <br />including, but not limited to the following: <br />1. Assistance in preparation of convention and meeting bid <br /> proposals. <br />2. Preparation of delegates welcome packets. <br />3. Provide printed and promotional materials such as San Marcos <br /> brochures, maps, accomodation guides, restaurant guides, lapel <br /> pins, litter bags, calendar of events, etc. <br />4. Assistance in planning convention meeting facilities, <br /> i tinerar'ies, meals, entertainment, accomodations, shopping, <br /> tours, etc. <br />5. Assistance in convention delegate registration and <br /> distribution of Welcome Packets. <br />6. Provide name badges. <br />7. Assist in coordinating with media for promotional efforts. <br />8. Assistance in answering telephone inquires concerning San <br /> Marcos and general information. <br />9. Coordinate display of street banner, Welcome to San Marcos. <br />1 O. Administrative staff, equipment and offices of the Chamber <br /> and Interstate Visitor Center are available and used to provide <br /> services, support and assistance. <br />1 1. Provide hosting activity as in a welcome social/reception. <br />SPECIAL EVENT SERVICES PROVIDED: <br />-------------------------------- <br />The following Convention and Visitor Bureau services are <br />established for special events to standardize its support <br />services and promotional materials directly enhancing the <br />tourism industry in San t-tarcos. <br />1. Provide use of 1-800 telephone number and staff to answer <br /> incoming calls concet'ning events. <br />2. Provide printed materials to promote visitation to San Marcos <br /> such as visitor maps, accommodation guides, restaurant <br /> guides, calendar of events, entertainment guides, and others <br /> as appropriate. <br />3. Provide souvenir promotional items such as San Marcos lapel <br /> pins, litter bags, and bumper stickers. <br />4. Compile and package literature and business discount coupons <br /> into welcome packets. <br />5. Insertion of events promotional brochure into tourist and <br /> visitor inquiry responses. <br />
