<br />6. Provide displaying of street banner, Welcome to San Marcos, <br /> with recognition of events name. <br />7. Provide assistance to package and distribute events <br /> promotional literature and at registration table of events. <br />8. Provide assistance in advance registration, selling tickets, <br /> booth sales, and recruiting and assisting vendors. <br />9. Provide staff support for event committees to assist them on <br /> planning, promoting, implementation and other support services. <br />1 o. Provide development and placement of out-of-town advertising <br /> of special events as approved by the Convention and Visitors <br /> Bureau. <br />ADVERTISING: <br />----------- <br />The following Convention and Visitors Bureau policies will be <br />used to administer the advertising expenditures of the Convention <br />and Visitors Bureau. <br />1. Occupancy tax funds for advertising will only be expended <br /> for conducting solicitations and promotional programs to attract <br /> tourist and convention delegates or registrants to the City of <br /> San Marcos or its vicinity from a different municipality, county, <br /> state or country for pleasure, recreation, education. or <br /> culture. <br />2. Advertising and promoting San Marcos and/or a festival, <br /> convention, or special event to solicit and attract tourist and <br /> convention delegates or registrants will be approved by the <br /> Convention and Visitor Bureau Committee. <br />3. Advertising and promotional programs will be developed and <br /> implemented through a seasonal or semi-annual advertising <br /> schedule approved by the Convention and Visitor Bureau <br /> Committee. <br />4. Production of advertising copy will be coordinated by <br /> chamber staff and inserted in appropriate media as approved by the <br /> Convention and Visitor Bureau Committee. <br />5. Advertising will only be paid by Convention and Visitors <br /> Bureau fund directly to the appropriate media. <br />6. Occupancy Tax fund s for advertising San Marcos and/or a festival, <br /> convention or special event will not be dispersed to any individual, <br /> organization or event. <br />7. Consideration of advertising a festival, convention, or special event <br /> will be based on the historical and potential impact of directly <br /> enhancing and promoting tourism and the convention and <br /> hotel industry. <br />
