<br /> *********** <br /> FIELD NOTES <br /> *********** <br /> A parcel of land containing 42.4719 acres out of the William <br />Pettus Two League Grant, Caldwell County, Texas, and lying wholly <br />within the Gary Job Corps Center; this parcel is shown on a plat <br />of a survey dated IS August 1989 by Charles R. Swart, Surveyor, <br />and is more particularly described by metes and bounds in the <br />following paragraphs. <br /> Bearings are based on the center line bearing of State <br />Highway 21 as shown on the right of way map of the Texas Highway <br />Department dated 27 March 1937, as the center line was found <br />marked on the ground between stations 129 + 53 and 158 + 10. The <br />brass disk reference monument ci ted is a 2 inch diameter domed <br />brass disk set in the concrete apron and marked <br /> 2.5 FT OFFSETS <br /> 1989 <br /> R.M. (No. ) <br /> CHARLES R. SWART <br />with the exception that the brass disks at points 860 and 858 are <br />marked <br /> 3.5 AND 2.5 FT OFFSETS <br /> The brass capped iron reference monument cited is a 5/8 inch <br />diameter iron bar, 24 inches long, with a 2 inch diameter brass <br />cap set 0 inches up and marked <br /> SAN MARCOS AIRPORT <br /> 1989 <br /> 2.5 FT O.S.'S <br /> R.M. (NO.) <br /> CHARLES R. SWART <br /> SURVEYOR <br /> The point cited as the West Reference Mark (point 50) is a <br />3/8 inch diameter drill hole near the west end of the concrete <br />parking ramp, and 9.5 feet north of the south edge of the ramp. <br />The point cited as the East Reference Mark (point 51) is a 3/8 <br />inch diameter drill hole in the concrete parking ramp opposite <br />the east legs of the old control tower, and 9.5 feet from the <br />south edge of the ramp. From the West Reference Mark, the East <br />Reference Mark bears South 89 degrees 58 minutes 34 seconds East <br />a distance of 1505.44 feet. <br /> Beginning at the end point of the twenty-fourth call of the <br />field notes of the 1303.055 acre tract conveyed by the United <br />States of America to the Ci ty of San Marcos by that deed dated 14 <br />F~bruary 1966, filed 18 February 1966, and recorded 21 February <br />1966 in Volume 313, pages 463, et sqq. of the deed records of <br />Caldwell County. This point, which was found marked with a 1/2 <br />inch diameter iron bar (point 827), bears South 57 degrees 59 <br />minutes 31 seconds East a distance of 711.14 feet from the West <br />Reference Mark, and South 67 degrees 21 minutes 51 seconds West a <br />distance of 977.73 feet from the East Reference Mark. <br /> ThenCe, from the point of beginning, South 89 degrees 58 <br />minutes 32 seconds East along the south line of the San Marcos <br />Airport and the north line of the Gary Job Corps Center as <br />described in the field notes of that 20.751 acre tract recorded <br />in Volume 376, pages 257, et sqq. a distance of 787.45 feet to a <br />1/2 inch diameter iron bar (point 814) found in place; <br /> thence North 00 degrees 04 minutes 44 seconds East along an <br />east line of the San Marcos Airport and a west line of the Gary <br />Jobs Corps Center as described in the field notes of the said <br />20.751 acre tract a distance of 152.61 feet to a 1/2 inch <br />diameter iron bar (point 815) found in place; <br /> thence South 89 degrees 56 minutes 08 seconds East along a <br />south line of the San l-1arcos Airport and a north line of the Gary <br />Job Corps Center as described in the field notes of the said <br />20.751 acre tract a distance of 253.75 feet to a 1/2 inch <br />diameter iron bar (point 816) found in place; <br /> thence North 00 degrees 04 minutes 46 seconds East along an <br />east line of the San Marcos Airport and a west line of the Gary <br /> 1350-C <br />
