<br />42 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1989-110R <br />STATE OF TEXAS <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A <br />WATER PURCHASE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND THE GUADALUPE-BLANCO <br />RIVER AUTHORITY FOR THE SUPPLY AND PURCHASE <br />OF SURFACE WATER FROM CANYON RESERVOIR <br />IN COMAL COUNTY, TEXAS <br />WHEREAS, the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority has been <br />authorized by Texas Water Commission to empound water in Canyon <br />Reservoir in Comal County, Texas, and to divert and use said <br />water for domestic, municipal, and industrial purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos requires a firm surface <br />water supply in order to provide water for municipal and <br />industrial purposes to its retail customers within the service <br />area of said City; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br />PART 1. That the Water Purchase Contract between the City <br />of San Marcos, Texas, and the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority, a <br />copy of which said Agreement is attached hereto and incorporated <br />herein for all intents and purposes, be, and the same is hereby, <br />approved. <br />PART 2. That the City Manager of the City of San Marcos, <br />Texas, be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute said Agreement <br />on behalf of the City of San Marcos. <br />PART 3.
