revolving loan funds and have planned for new growth and development of
5an AAarcos for the future. We also have continued to support economic
development and tourism by increasing the funding of the eVB, ED¢ and
hispanic chamber programs.

Z know that the future of 5an Marcos is very bright. Z want to con9ratulate
John Diaz and .Tohn Thomaides on becoming council members tonight. There
is still much to be done and Z know that everyone here is anxious to get
started. Z wish this new council all the best and ]: know that you will
continue to do great things. Z'd like to leave you with the following quote by
Teddy Roosevelt that ~Z hove always found to be true and worth repeating.

"The credit belongs to those people who are actually in the arena...who
know the great enthusiasms. The great devotions to a worthy cause;
who at best, know the triumph of high achievement; and who, at worst,
fail while daring greatiy...so that their pJace shall never be with those
cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat."

Thank you once again, Z bid you o fond farewell. AAoy God continue to bless
our fair city.
