<br />86. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2005-.1..3..5.-R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING AN ELECTION SERVICES AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS THE HAYS COUNTY ELECTION <br />ADMINISTRATOR, FOR HER PROVISION OF ELECTION SERVICES FOR <br />THE CITY'S GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON <br />NOVEMBER 8,2005 AND, IF NECESSARY A RUNOFF ELECTION TO BE <br />HELD ON DECEMBER 6,2005; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City and the Hays County Election Administrator (the "Officer") are <br />authorized to execute an Election Services Agreement pursuant to the provisions of the <br />Texas Election Code, Chapter 31, Subchapter D, for the conduct and supervision of the <br />City's General and Special Election to be held on November 8,2005 and, if necessary, a <br />runoff election to be held on December 6,2005 {the Election(s)"}. <br /> <br />2. The City and the Officer have determined that it is in the City's best interest <br />to contract for the provision of election services necessary for the conduct of the City's <br />Election(s). <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The attached Election Services Agreement between the Officer and <br />the City for the conduct of the City's Election(s) is approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to execute the <br />agreement on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />PART 3.
