<br /> 51 <br /> - <br /> RESOLUTION 1996 - 57R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS <br /> -~ APPROVING THE RENEWAL OF THE LEASE <br /> OF A PORTION OF THE RECREATIONAL <br /> BUILDING IN CITY PARK TO THE SAN <br /> MARCOS LIONS CLUB; AUTHORIZING THE <br /> CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A LETTER OF <br /> AGREEMENT; AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. On February 22, 1993 the City entered into a lease with the San Marcos Lions Club <br /> for a portion of the Recreational Building located in City Park. The purpose of this lease <br /> was to facilitate the Lions Club rental of inner tubes to persons wishing to float down the <br /> San Marcos River. This lease will run out on April 10, 1996. Under~ the provisions of the <br /> original lease, the Lions Club has three 5 year renewal options, each subject to City <br /> Council approval. <br /> 2. The Parks and Recreation Board has considered the renewal request and has voted <br /> to recommend it to the City Council. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1: That the renewal of the first five year option to lease the above <br /> described real property to the Lions Club is approved. <br /> PART 2: That the City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is hereby authorized to execute <br /> a Letter of Agreement renewing the lease of the above described property to the Lions <br /> Club until April 10, 2001. <br /> PART 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its <br /> passage. <br /> ADOPTED this 25ttdayof March 1996. <br /> l Kathy M.
