<br /> 4 <br /> ORDINANCE 1984-36 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CANVASS ING RE'rURNS AND <br /> DECLARING RESULTS OF THE REGULAR AND SPECIAL <br /> ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A MAYOR, <br /> A COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE THREE, A COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER, PLACE FOUR AND CONSIDERING AMENDMENTS <br /> TO THE CHARTER OF SAID CITY HELD ON APRIL 7, <br /> 1984; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> , the City Council of the City of San Marcos, <br />Texas, ordered a regular and special election for the purpose <br />of electing a mayor, a council member, place three, a council <br />member, place fo ur, and considering amendments to the Charter <br />of said city be held on April 7, 1984, by ordinance duly <br />enacted on January 30, 1984; and, <br /> WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly published in <br />the San Marcos Daily Record on March 18, 1984 and March 25, <br />1984; and, <br /> WHEREAS, copies of said notice were duly posted at each <br />city election precinct polling place prior to said election; <br />and, <br /> WHEREAS, said election was duly and legally held on the <br />7th day of April, 1984, in conformity with the election laws <br />of the State of Texas, and the results of said election have <br />been certified and returned by the proper judges and clerks <br />thereof; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, <br />Texas, with the following members present: <br />E.mm.Le Craddock. -KarJ. Farr,Fred Guerra. <br />B.e..:t.Ly ,T"mp Ki ssl pr and ,T~ime Mo.ore-# <br />as today considered the returns of said regular and special <br />election held on the 7th day of April, 1984¡ <br /> WHEREAS, it appears to the Council, and the Council so <br />finds, that the said election was in all respects lawfully <br />held; and, <br /> WHEREAS, it appears to the Council, and the Council so <br />finds, that the tabulation of the results of said election is <br />correct; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> SECTION 1. That the regular and special City election <br />of April 7, 1984 was duly called, that notice of said <br />election was given in accordance with law, and that said <br />election was held in accordance with law. <br /> SECTION 2. That the tabulation of votes cast in the <br />regular and special election for the purpose of electing a <br />mayor, a council member, place three, a council member, place <br />four and considering illnendments to the Charter of said City <br />held on April 7, 1984, made and certified to by the City <br />Secretary of the City of San Marcos, a copy of which is <br />attached hereto and made a part hereof, be, and the same is <br />hereby, adopted as the official tabulation of the votes cast <br />at said election and that said tabulation be filed and <br />recorded in the official records of the City of San Marcos as <br />the official canvass of said election. <br /> SECTION 3. That the said official canvass of the <br />returns of said election reflects the following: <br />
