Call To Order <br />With a quorum present, the regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council was called to order <br />by Mayor Daniel Guerrero at 5:01 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in the City Council Chambers, <br />630 East Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Council Member Thomaides and Council Member Prewitt arrived after roll call at 5:03 p.m. <br />Council Member Prather arrived after roll call at 5:05 p.m. <br />Present: 7 - Mayor Daniel Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tern John Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern <br />Wayne Becak, Council Member Ryan Thomason, Council Member Shane Scott, <br />Council Member Jude Prather and Council Member Lisa Prewitt <br />'11. EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />1. 5:OOPM <br />Executive Session in accordance with Section §551.072 of the Texas Government <br />Code: Real Property - to receive an update regarding negotiations for the sale of City <br />real estate comprised of three tracts of land known as the "Leah Tract," comprised of <br />a 1.378 acre tract out of the J.M. Veramendi Survey No. 1, Abstract No. 17, a 25.05 <br />acre tract, being Lot 1 of the Cottonwood Parkway Addition and a 1.36 acre tract, <br />being Lot 10A of the Municipal Airport Subdivision; and in accordance with Section <br />§551.072 of the Texas Government Code: Real Property - deliberation regarding the <br />purchase of real property as a potential site for the relocation of certain City service <br />operations; and in accordance with Section § 551.074 of the Texas Government <br />Code: Personnel Matters - deliberate regarding the position of the Presiding Judge of <br />the San Marcos Municipal Court of Record. <br />A motion was made by Mayor Guerrero, seconded by Council Member Scott, to enter Executive <br />Session at approximately 5:03 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 6 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro-Tern Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Becak, <br />Council Member Thomason, Council Member Scott and Council Member Prewitt <br />Against: 0 <br />Absent: 1 - Council Member Prather <br />2. Consider adoption or direction to Staff on matters discussed in Executive Session. <br />The Council reconvened at approximately 6:01 p.m. Staff was given direction during Executive <br />Session. An action item will be placed on a future agenda regarding the position of the <br />City of San Marcos Page 1 <br />
