Ron Patterson <br />Director of Human Resources Carolyn Liner <br />Director of Public Works George Boeker <br />Director of SMEU Bob Higgs <br />Director of Airport Jack Doughty <br />Director of WIC Eddie Ortega <br />Director of Parks and Recreation Rodnêy Cobb <br /> <br />Also Present: Nina Wright, Sylvia Owens, Kim Bradley, Kim Adams, <br />Collette Duran, Collete Davis, Melissa Millecam, Cheryl Pantermuehl, <br />Bob Ronson, Kyev Tatum, Bob Martines, Rick Hernandez, Jesse Saucedo, <br />Celestino Mendez, Jan Hardin, Phil Nabors and others. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced the la-minute citizen comment period with <br />the City Council. Nina Wright and Sylvia Owens of Partnership for a <br />Drug-Free San Marcos were opposed to changing to allow drinking in <br />San Marcos until 2:00 a.m. They felt it was not a good message to <br />send to our community. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of one <br />appointment to complete a vacancy on the Convention/Recreation <br />Facility Task Force. Mr. Mooney moved to appoint Sonia Villalpando, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of one <br />appointment to complete a vacancy on the Electrical Board. The <br />member must be a master electrician who received a license in San <br />Marcos. No nominations were received, and it will be rescheduled. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of one <br />appointment to complete a vacancy on the Zoning Commission. Mr. <br />Moore moved to appoint Kyev Tatum. Mr. Tatum currently serves on <br />the civil Service Commission and stated in the meeting he was <br />officially resigning from that Commission if appointed to the Zoning <br />Commission. The Council voted unanimously for approval of Mr. <br />Tatum. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of one <br />appointment to the San Marcos Electric utility Board. Mayor Morris <br />moved to appoint Betty Jane Kissler and Mr. Moore moved to reappoint <br />J. E. Younger. On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />KISSLER: Mooney, Morris, Plummer. <br /> <br />YOUNGER: Moore, Cox. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />Neither nomination received four votes and will be reconsidered when <br />all the City Council Members are present later in this meeting (see <br />page 3). <br /> <br />* Mr. Hart present at 7:52 p.m. and Mr. Guerra present at 8:23 p.m. <br />
