Younger, Gene Bagwell, Julie <br />Villanueva, Dave Marsh and Renate Yanity, Recording Secretary <br /> <br />Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an appointment <br />to the Historic Preservation Commission. Because there were no <br />nominess Mr. Plummer moved to postpone this item until the May 29th <br />meeting. Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an appointment <br />to the Senior Citizens Advisory Board. Mr. Moore stated that he had <br />two persons he needed to contact before he could nominate them. <br />Mr. Hernandez moved that this item be tabled until the May 29th <br />meeting. Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an appointment <br />to fill a vacancy on the Public Transportation Committee. Mr. <br />Guerra moved to appoint Mr. Sam Woods. Mr. Moore seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced a status report from Chairperson, Jerry Romero, <br />Public Transportation Committee. Mr. Romero stated that the Committee <br />was presently using as resources Brazos Transit and CARTS. Mr. <br />Romero stated that both Brazos Transit and CARTS are local political <br />subdivisions of the State of Texas operating under the Federal <br />Department of Transportation Act and the Coordinated Rural <br />Transporation System Bureau. Mr. Romero advised the Council that <br />the Committee had not yet made a determination as to the need on a <br />transit system in San Marcos. Mr. Romero stated that a recommendation <br />would be presented to the Council in the near future. Mr. Romero <br />stated that the committee is also utilizing the information provided in <br />a preliminary draft of the Goodman study. Mr. Romero asked that the <br />Council appoint an additional SWTSU committee member and recommended <br />the President of the Associated Student Government, John Damaree. Mr. <br />Romero informed the Council that a trolley would be here on June 12th <br />as a static and possibly traveling display. Mayor Morris stated that <br />the appointment would be considered at the May 29th meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the <br />caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE LAND USE ASSUMPTIONS AS RECOMMENDED BY THE <br />CITY CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS COMMITTEE FOR IMPACT FEE COMPLIANCE; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />
