Samuel Montoya, Pastor of Pentecostal Church,gave the <br />Invocation,. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Minutes of the September 13, 1971 regular meeting and public <br />hearingw,ere approved as presented, on motion of Mr; Etheredge and <br />second of Mr. King. <br /> <br />The Mayor" Pro Tem opened a public hearing on a request for change <br />of zoning on a tract of land out of T.J. Chambers Survey fronting <br />on North lBJ Drive, fr,om "R~l" (single-famdy residential) to "D" <br />(multi~family). <br />Mrs. Jo Ann Childress, owner of the property, came forward to <br />make the request in person. <br />Kelly JGnes, who lives' on Chestnut Street,enquiredwhether the <br />change of, zoning would extend to Chestnut Street. He was shown a <br />plat of the Childress property and assured that only the portion <br />fronting on LSJ was under request for rezoning. <br />No other person came forward to speak for or, against the 'request. <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro Tem declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro Tem introduced an ordinance and read the caption <br />as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGU lATES AND RESTR I CTS THE LOCATI ON AND USE OF BU ILD I NGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL 32) BY CHANGING <br />THE ZONING ON, TRACT #1 OUT OF T.J. CHAMBERS SURVEY (FACING ON <br />NORTH lBJ DRIVE) FROM "R-1" (SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO <br />"D" (MUlTI~FAMllY) <br /> <br />Mr. King moved approval of the ordinance on first r'eading. <br />Mr. Ether'edge seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro Tem ope~ed a public hearing bnB request for change <br />of zoning on a 26.05-acre tract out of J.M. Veramendi League #2, <br />from "M" (mixed) to "C- (commercial). <br />
