Marshall, Mrs. Jim Sims, Juan Palomo, Tom Utter,DonTrepagnier, Lanny Cravy, David Bayse, Jim Baugh The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Dr. Tauch gave the Invocation. The Minutes of September 13 regular meeting and public he~ring on the 1Y71-1972 Budget were approved as presented, on motion of Mr. DeLaRosa and~econdof Mr. Etheredg~. I The Mayor opened a zoning from "D" to C.L. McGehee Addn. Ho~kins and Scott. public hearing on a request for Change of "M"on Lo~4, and part of Lots 3& 6, Blk. 1, The property is located at the corner of Mr. Walter Feltner and the owner of the property, Mr. Fred Feltner, spoke for thechange,andexplainedthatth~y had a sale for the property for a drive-in grocery; contingent on the change to -M" zoning. It was explained that they had originally requested a change of zoning to "C", commerciaI,which the Planning & Zoning Commission had denied. The presehtrequest was in the form of a protest to the Planning & Zoning Commission recommendation. The matter was thoroughly discussed, with Councilmen expressing their views. No ~ne else came forward to speak for or against the request. The Mayor declared the public hearing closed. Mr. D~La Rosa moved that the request ,for chang~ of zoning be denied. Dr. Tauch seconded the motion. Mr. Flores recommended that Mr. Feltner submit his request for a change of zoni ngto"W' to the Planning & Zoning Commission, since it might receive a more favor- able consid~ration than "C". On roll call the following vote was recorded: I AYE: NAY: DeLa Rosa, Emery, Etheredge, Flores, King, Tauch, Yarbrough 'None The Mayor declared the motion carried. Mr. Etheredge moved that a trailer permit beissuedtoMa~uel Vargas, to be used on Lot 2, Blk. 2, Dan McKie Addn. (805 Purgatory, or Gravel Street), in accordance with a recommendation from the Planning & Zoning Commission. Mrs. Emery seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
