Mr. Smith moved adoption of :the Budget as present- <br />the adopti6n of theordinl.nce setting the tax rate. <br />of th~ ordinance, attached as a pa~t of the Minutes, is: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT <br />OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENTOFTHE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR A SINKING FUND FOR THE RETIREMENT <br />OF THE BONDED DEBT OF SAID CITY iAND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY <br /> <br />Mr. Zavesky seconded the motion. Mr. Henry Kyle asked the amount <br />of the assessed valuation of the City. The City Manager said it <br />was approxirn<itely$24,OOO,000. NAY: <br /> <br />Contreras, Dannelley'i Flores, Smith, Zavesky <br />Nohe <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro Tern declared the 1969~1970 Budget adopted as <br />presented, and the Ordinance Levying Taxes Passed, Approved <br />and Adopted. <br /> <br />Mr. Henry Kyle appeared before the Council on behalf of Dr. <br />Cecil Greer. He requested that Dr. 'Greer's property on the <br />SahMarcos River' be excluded fromi:he Nei.ghborhood Development <br />Program, and that Dr. Greer be issued a building permit for <br />cons'tr'uction of an' apartment 'house . <br />
