This expenditure was
authorized. The Council also agreed that the trailers would be
allowed to enter the Park three days prior to the formal date of the
Rendezvous, January 17th. '

The City Manager reported that he had contacted Mr. Cullen
Crews relative to the proposed right-of-way across his property for
an entrance road into the hospital. Mr. Crews was interested in
getting the entrance across lot 21 as this lot has been damaged
because a water line crosses it. This was agreeable with the Council
and the City Manager was authorized to continue negotations with
Mr. Crews.

I

The Council received a verbal report which had been sent
to the City Manager by the President of the Library Board regarding
its interest in using the old Post Office building as a possible site
for the City Library. At a meeting on November 28th, the Library Club
voted to request the City to spend any funds which might become
available for the construction of a new building, on the present
Library site, designed for use as a library. It was further
reported that the Library Club appreciated the Council's interest
in the library program and would not ask for any money to restore
the present building but would like for the Council to consider the
construction of a new building even if it had to be built a unit
at a time, as funds were available.

It was the unaminous opinion of the Council that the City
should file for the old Post Office building as a possible site for
a museum, city hall or other qualifying Use. Alderman Beecroft introduc-
ed a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to act for the City in
negotiating for the property. This motion was seconded by Alderman
Tuttle and carried unaminously.
