Whittenberg Visitors: Everett Johnson, John Smith, Bob Barton, Mary Etheredge, Bob Watki ns The Mayor called therneetingto order at 7:30 p.m. Minutes of the December II, 1967 meet i ng were approved .as. present- ed, on motion of Dr. Craddo~k and second of-Mr. Damon. I The Mayor introduced an Ordinance authorizing issuance of General Ob I i.gati on Bonds: $ F65,0.00for the Fire Stat i oh I and $:35,000 for the Signal Light System (Street Improvement Bonds). The Ordinance was read. Councilman Xorff moVed ~doption of the Ordinance, caption of which is as follows: AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL Of THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS~ AUTHORIZING, THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($200,000) FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING STREET I MPROVEMENTS IN SAID CI TY, I NCLUD I NG THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A SYNCHRONIZED TRAFFIC SIG- NAL LIGHT SYSTEM AND NECESSARY CURB AND SIDEWALK INSTALLATION, AND CONSTRUCTING AND EQUIPPING A PUBLIGBURDING TO BE USED AS A FIRE STATION IN SAID CITY; PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY, ASSESS- MENT AND .COLLECnON OF A TAX ON. ALL. TAXABLE PROPERTY WI TH IN THE LIMITS OF SAID CITY .TO PAY TIlE INTEREST AND. CREATE A SINK- ING FUND FOR THE REDEMPTION THEREOF; ANDENACTtNG PROVISIONS INCIDENT AND RELATING TO THE SUBJECT AND PURPOSE OF THIS ORD- INANCE;AND CONFIRMING SALE OF THE BONDS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
