RESOLUTION NO. 2012 - 93R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />EXECUTE AN ASSIGNMENT OF GRANT AGREEMENTS WITH THE <br />LOWER COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY THAT PROVIDED <br />FUNDING FOR FACILITIES AT THE ADVANCED LAW <br />ENFORCEMENT RAPID RESPONSE TRAINING ( "ALERRT ") CENTER <br />TO TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY -SAN MARCOS; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. Through two grant agreements with the Lower Colorado River Authority <br />( "LCRA ") dated November 30, 2003 and July 19, 2004 and the City was awarded grant funds for <br />the installation of facilities at the ALERRT Center. <br />2. By agreement with Texas State University -San Marcos ( "Texas State "), Texas <br />State has assumed responsibility for operating the ALERRT Center and the City and Texas State <br />wish to transfer responsibilities under the LCRA grant agreements to Texas State. <br />3. LCRA has consented to the assignment. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to execute on <br />behalf of the City of San Marcos the attached assignment agreement (the "Assignment "). <br />PART 2.
