44. RESOLUTION 1998 - 237 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING A LEASE OF THE OLD FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH LOCATED AT 222 WEST SAN ANTONIO STREET TO THE GREATER SAN MARCOS AREA SENIORS ASSOCIATION; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE LEASE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. The City of San Marcos is the owner of the property at 222 West San Antonio Street in San Marcos, Hays County, Texas (the "Property"), the legal description of which is Lot Nos. 3 and 4, Block 15 of the Original Town of San Marcos, according to the map or plat thereof recorded in Volume 46, Page 448 of the Hays County Deed Records. 2. The City's governing body accepted the donation of the Property "for the purpose of providing the City of San Marcos with a facility to be used for youth and/or senior citizen activity programs" in a deed from the First Christian Church recorded in Volume 994, Page 684 of the Hays County Deed Records. 3. The Greater San Marcos Area Seniors Association (the "Association") has submitted a proposal to lease the Property from the City for the purposes stated above. 4. The City's governing body wishes to accept the proposal submitted by the Association, and the City and Association agree to the lease of the Property in accordance with the terms of the attached Lease Agreement. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. The Lease Agreement between the City of San Marcos and the Greater San Marcos Area Senior Association for property located at 222 West San Antonio Street is approved. PART 2. The City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is authorized to execute the attached Lease Agreement. PART 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
