<br /> 48 <br /> RESOLUTION 1997- 190 R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE ASSIGNMENT OF AN AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY CHAPTER, <br />NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF COLORED <br />PEOPLE (NAACP) FOR THE LEASE OF A 1.166 ACRE TRACT OF <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 715 VALLEY STREET TO THE WILLIE MAE <br />MITCHELL COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITY CENTER; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. On July 25, 1994 the City approved a lease agreement with the Texas Hill <br />Country Chapter, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) <br />for a 1.166 acre tract of property located at 715 Valley Street for the establishment and <br />operation of a community empowerment center. <br />2. The NAACP has requested that the current lease be assigned to the Willie <br />Mae Mitchell Community Opportunity Center, a local non-profit organization. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The assignment of the lease agreement between the City and the <br />NAACP for a 1.166 acre tract of property located at 715 Valley Street from the NAACP to <br />the Willie Mae Mitchell Community Opportunity Center is approved. <br />PART 2. This Resolution is in full force and effect immediately from and after <br />its passage. <br />ADOPTED this 1st day of December 1997. <br /> f)~~ <br /> Billy G.
