95 ORDINANCE 1985-10 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ORDERING A JOINT GENERAL ELECTION BY SAID CITY AND THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS ON APRIL 6, 1985 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE FIVE AND A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE SIX: AND TO BE HELD WITHIN AND WITHOUT THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF SAID CITY ON APRIL 6, 1985 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEMBER, PLACE ONE AND A SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEMBER, PLACE TWO; ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF COMPENSATION TO BE PAID JUDGES AND CLERKS FOR SERVICES RENDERED DURING SAID ELECTION: MAKING PROVISIONS FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE ELECTION AND OTHER PROVISIONS INCIDENT TO THE PURPOSES OF THIS ORDINANCE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That, in accordance with the provisions of Articles III, V, and XII of the Charter of the City of San Marcos and the laws of the State of Texas, so far as same may be applicable, a joint general election by the City of San Marcos, Texas and the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District shall be held and the same is ordered and directed to be held, at the various polling places and election precincts within and without the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos, Texas, as hereinafter designated, on the 6th day of April, 1985, from the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7 : 00 p. m., at which election there shall be elected by the qualified voters of the City of San Marcos, from the City at large, a City Council Member for Place Five and a City Council Member for Place Six, for terms of three years each. By the qualified voters of the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District, there shall be elected a School District Board of Trustees Member, Place One and a School District Board of Trustees Member, Place Two, for terms of three years each. SECTION 2. That the election precincts for said election shall be, in all respects, the same precincts as those Hays County Election Precincts which are within and without the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos. SECTION 3.
