Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: ' AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, DESIGNATING A REINVESTMENT ZONE PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 312 OF THE TE~~S TAX CODE TO INCLUDE PROPERTY COMPRISING AN AREA OF APPROXIMATELY 2.522 ACRES LOCATED IN THE 1600 BLOCK OF NORTH IH35, TO BE KNOWN AS REINVESTMENT ZONE NO.7; ESTABLISHING THE SPECIFIC BOUNDARIES THEREOF; MAKING CERTAIN STATUTORY FINDINGS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak for or against the Ordinance. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced fo~ consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF THE CITY, FROM PERMANENT OPEN SPACE AND/OR FLOODPLAIN TO PUBLIC '. FOR 72.2 ACRES OF LAND AREA SITUATED IN THE J. M. VERAMENDI i SURVEY NO.2, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, CONSISTING OF 12.2 ACRE, 20.0 ACRE AND 40.0 ACRE TRACTS OF LAND, DESCRIBED, RESPECTIVELY, IN DEEDS TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS DATED DECEMBER 30, 1967 AND RECORDED IN VOLUME 221, PAGE 372, DATED APRIL 23, 1982 AND RECORDED IN VOLUME 374, PAGE 249, AND DATED JULY 26, 1982 AND RECORDED IN VOLUME 378, PAGE 558, ALL IN THE HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS, LOCATED ON THE SOUTHEAST SIDE OF THE 700 BLOCK OF RIVER ROAD AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak for or against the land use amendment. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. * Mr. Plummer not present for this meeting.
