No one signed up'to speak during this time. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration confirmation of the city <br />Manager's appointment to the civil service Commission. Mr. Moore <br />moved to confirm Mr. Gilley's appointment of Goerge Boemerman and <br />Mr. Mooney seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration acceptance of a financial <br />report from the Heritage Association concerning the operation of the <br />Charles S. Cock House Museum. Frances Stovall reviewed the <br />financial report with the city Council, which is attached to these <br />minutes. Mayor Morris stated she wanted the use agreement to <br />include allowing the Cock House to be used for official City <br />business and to allow catering by others for these city functions. <br />Mr. Moore moved to approve the report and Mr. Hart seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced a presentation by the Heritage Association <br />regarding security lights along the San Marcos River. Mrs. Stovall <br />advised the Council the Heritage Association's project this year is <br />to place lights along the sidewalk from the Fish Hatchery Building, <br />through Bicentennial Park, to Children's Park and on into Rio vista <br />Park if the funds allow in recognition of the 20th anniversary of <br />I Riverwalk. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning <br />ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />0.54 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, OF LAND AREA IN THE J. M. VERAMENDI~ <br />LEAGUE NO. TWO, CITY OF SAN MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, LOCATED <br />AT 639 HOPKINS STREET, FROM "M" (SINGLE-FAMILY, DUPLEX AND <br />NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT) TO "C" (COMMERCIAL DISTRICT) <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />* Mr. Guerra present at 8:02 p.m. <br />
