Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Morris introduced the Citizen comment period. Mr. Felix Regna, Jr. stated he was in the process of opening a cleaning service in San Marcos, and had been having difficulty with the Planning Department. He stated he submitted plans to Jim Parris and they were rejected because they were not architecturally drawn. He stated Mr. Parris had given him the wrong information and he was in the process of resubmitting his plans. He stated he felt like he was not welcomed in San Marcos. Mayor Morris apologized for the inconvenience and explained the procedures to him. Mayor Morris requested he meet with Bob Ronson to help him with the process and Mr. Gilley assured Mr. Regna the City would do everything they could to help him with the proper procedures. Ron Jager addressed the Council regarding the Old Christian Church Building. He stated they had contacted over 700 people and had received pledges of over $27,500.00. Mr. Jager stated the closure of the building was June 28th and there was a two week waiting period for the results. He requested the Council extend the deadline for pledges to July 15. The Council agreed to extend the deadline and bring the item to the July 26, 1995 City Council meeting. Marie Jager withdrew her request to speak to the Council. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of three appointments to the Cemetery Commission. Mr. Hernandez moved to appoint Richard Arredondo and Mr. Guerra moved to reappoint AI McGehee and Dianne Pape, which passed unanimously. * Janis K. Womack not present at this meeting.
