Huffman <br />City Secretary Janis K. Womack <br />City Attorney Mark B. Taylor <br />Director of Planning & Developmental Services Ron Patterson <br />Director of SMEU Bob Higgs <br />Director of Finance Bill White <br />Director of Parks & Recreation Rodney Cobb <br />Director of Human Resources Carolyn Liner <br />Fire Chief Dan O'Leary <br />Others Present: Kim Doherty, Collette Duran, Melissa Millecam, Mario Gutierrez, Laurie <br />Anderson, Harvey Jarvis, Cheryl Pantermuehl, Lupe Carbajal, Pat :Murdock, Nina Pryatel, Frank <br />Arredondo, Betsy Robertson, Todd Derkacz, Wade Butler, Phil Neighbors, Monica Btackum, <br />Louis Doiron and others. <br />Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />Mayor Moore introduced the ten-minute citizen comment period. Nina Pryatel, member of the <br />Human Services Advisory Board, stated the board was deeply committed in processing the <br />applications for funding from the City's budget. She stated the board held a public hearing, made <br />site visits and dedicated a lot of time to the recommendations they made to the City Council. She <br />wanted to express her disappointment in the Council's decision. Frank Arredondo, Community <br />Action Board, stated he would like the Council to reconsider their decision to cut the Senior <br />Citizens Program by $ 10,000. He stated the reduction in funding would cause them to cut back <br />on the services provided to the Senior Citizens. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration two appointments to fill vacancies on the Human <br />Development Commission. There were no nominations. Mayor Moore requested these <br />appointments be made at the next Council Meeting. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration two appointments to the Housing Authority Board. <br />Mayor Moore moved to reappoint Kimberley Wright and Richard Cruz and Mr. Guerra- moved to <br />appoint James Velasquez. On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br />Wright: Mihalkanin, Hughson, Hart, .Moore, Guerra, Cox, Hernandez. <br />Cruz: Hughson, Moore, Cox, Hernandez. <br />Velasquez: Mihalkanin, Hart, Guerra. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration an appointment to fill a vacancy on the Blue Ribbon <br />Bond Committee. Ms. Hughson stated this Committee will be making their report to the Council <br />at the end of September and does not need another appointment. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration an appointment to fill a vacancy on the Ethics Review <br />Commission. Mayor Moore :roved to appoint James Pendergast, which passed unanimously.
