Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Moore introduced the citizen comment period. Fraye Stokes stated she supported the Flying Ace Hall of Fame and felt this had the capability of bringing tourism to San Marcos. She also stated it would help further the development at the airport. Lydia Marie Trevino, Hispanic Chamber, requested the City Council set a policy for organizations who wish to bring a carnival in town in conjunction with special events. Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of four appointments to the Airport Commission. Mr. Cox moved to reappoint Robert Thornton and Nick Icossipentarhos (outside city limits), Mayor Moore moved to reappoint Robert Northcutt (outside city limits) and Mr. Mihalkanin moved to appoint Fraye Stokes, which passed unanimously. Mayor Moore introduced for consideration three appointments to the Historic Preservation Commission. Mr. Moore moved to reappoint Dr. Arlis Hiebert (At-Large) and Mr. Mihalkanin moved to appoint Shannon Wiess (Art/Design) and Sharon Yansey (At-Large), which passed i unanimously. , t Mayor Moore introduced for consideration four appointments to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Mr. Cox moved to reappoint Marvin Nite and Linda Keese, Mayor Moore moved to appoint Tony Daniels and Mr. Mihalkanin moved to reappoint Richard Earl. Mr. Hernandez stated their was only one minority on the Parks Board and would like to see a representative ITom public housing. He requested the Council leave one position open for the next meeting to consider an appointment from the Housing Authority. Mr. Guerra agreed the board needed more minority representation. On roll call the following vote was recorded: * Mr. Guerra arrived at 7:50 p.m. and Ms. Hughson arrived at 9:05 p.m.
