Mike Dishman, Jane Hughson., Billy G. <br /> Moore and others. <br />I <br />L Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> Mayor Morris introduced a ten-minute Citizen comment period. Nina Wright, stated she and <br /> other business owners and families could not believe the Council was still discussing drinking. <br /> She stated the bar hours would send the wrong message to kids. Kenneth Manning, Draft Choice <br /> Sports Bar, thanked the Council and Staff for the discussion and efforts of the 2 a.m. drinking <br /> and recommended the City Council table the Ordinance until a full Council exists. Ms. Ollie <br /> Giles, San Marcos Neighborhood Association, stated she would like to see extending the bar <br /> hours discussion buried and carry on with other city business. Tom Beels, Neighborhood <br /> Association., stated 75% of the residents in Oakridge were against extension of the bar hours and <br /> would fight the issue to the full extent. George VonderLippe, stated by extending the drinking <br /> hours, there would be a need to increase public safety. He felt there would be more domestic <br /> violence cases related to alcohol. <br /> Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of six appointments to the Senior Citizens <br /> Facility Advisory Board. Mr. Hart moved to appoint Rosie Smith, Mr. Mooney moved to appoint <br /> Doris Colgin, Mr. Hernandez moved to appoint Sue Cephas, Mr. Guerra moved to appoint Oralia <br /> Tobias and Mayor Morris moved to appoint Alice Morgan, which passed unanimously. Mayor <br /> Morris stated the Council would fill the final position when the Council seat was filled on May 13, <br /> ¡: 1996. <br /> L Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of a board appointment to fill a vacancy on <br /> the San Marcos Electric Utility Board. No nominations were received so this appointment will be <br /> filled at the next Council meeting. <br /> Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and approval of an Ordinance on first <br /> reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> , <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCil- OF THE CITY OF SAL'T MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, CHAL'TGING THE NAiYŒ OF PERKINS STREET TO HOOD STREET <br />
