Call To Order <br /> With a quorum present,the special meeting of the San Marcos City Council <br /> was called to order by Mayor Thomaides at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday,January 30, <br /> 2018 in the City Hall Conference Room,630 E. Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas <br /> 78666. <br /> II. Roll Call <br /> Present: 6- Mayor Pro Tem Lisa Prewitt, Council Member Saul Gonzales. Deputy Mayor Pro <br /> Tern Scott Gregson,Council Member Melissa Derrick, Mayor John Thomaides and <br /> Council Member Ed Mihalkanin <br /> Absent: 1 - Council Member Jane Hughson <br /> r PRESENTATIONS <br /> 1. Receive a work session presentation and hold discussion regarding Parking Mobility, a <br /> program designed to engage citizens in the process of enforcing disabled parking space <br /> violations within the City of San Marcos <br /> City Manager Bert Lumbreras provided a brief overview of the Parking <br /> Mobility program and turned it over to Police Chief Chase Stapp to present <br /> the presentation. <br /> Police Chief Chase Stapp provided the Council with a presentation related to <br /> Parking Mobility,a program designed to engage citizens in the process of <br /> enforcing disabled parking space violations within the City of San Marcos. <br /> This program is overseen by a non-profit company that uses a smartphone app <br /> that is utilitized by trained citizen volunteers to record and submit violations. <br /> Violations are reviewed by law enforcement before a citation is issued. This <br /> program is currently in use by Hays County. <br /> The annual fee structure is$35,000 to S40,000 annually. 100%of all fine <br /> collections would be given to the City. Mr.Mack Marsh,Project Director for <br /> Parking Mobility,expanded on the Chiefs presentation and informed the <br /> Council that they are the only company providing this service,and therefore <br /> this is a sole source product, and that they began their program here in Hays <br /> County. <br /> City of San Marcos Page 1 <br />
