Rodney Cobb <br /> <br />Also Present: Donna Doiron, Amelia Rios, Sarah Alvarez, David DeKunder, <br />John Cooper, Marsha Cooper, Collette Duran, Dianne Wassenich, Phil <br />Neighbors, Bryan Anderson, John Crowley, Dan Praver, Albert Sierra, <br />William Ford, David Chiu, Todd Derkacz and others. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced the citizen comment period. John Crowley stated he <br />is building a house in San Marcos and is tapping into the water and sewer <br />systems, which Public Works advised him would run $400-500. The fees are <br />approximately $2,000, which he thinks is excessive. He stated better <br />communication is needed to let citizens know what these costs are. He <br />said Toby Wade had been helpful in the process. Dan Praver stated he is a <br />citizen of San Marcos and uses the river. He stated at the Workshop <br />Meeting with SWT and TNRCC on June 21 no data was offered showing the <br />Spring Lake Dam in danger of collapse. He stated SWT wants the dam <br />repaired and is seeking funding to do so. He questions if their issue for <br />the curfew is safety and wants the curfew rescinded. Dianne Wassenich <br />stated she recently walked in her neighborhood and discovered erosion at <br />LBJ and Holland and on Post Road by the railroad tracks. She also stated <br />the power company (Hays Energy) was handing out money and she is leary of <br />their intentions. She stated the City needs to talk with the Clean Air <br />Force and be sure they will not damage our air. Bryan Anderson stated he <br />questions SWT issues that come before the Council, and in particular SWT's <br />closing of Spring Lake Dam. He feels there is a conflict of interest with <br />Council Members and SWT. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced an appointment to complete a vacancy on the <br />Development Ordinance Review Task Force. Mr. Doiron moved to appoint <br />David Leder to an at large position, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced a public hearing regarding an Annexation Ordinance, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />ANNEXING TO THE CITY A TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 1.47 ACRES, MORE OR <br />LESS, LOCATED OFF OF THE 1600 BLOCK OF POST ROAD; APPROVING A SERVICE <br />PLAN FOR THIS TRACT; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. <br />No one did, so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. <br />
