Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present <br />With a quorum present, the Regular Meeting of the San Marcos City Council was called to order <br />by Mayor Susan Narvaiz at 6:03 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 in the Council Chambers of <br />the City of San Marcos City Hall, 630 East Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666. <br />3. Presentation and discussion on the form-based code and provide direction to staff. <br />Matthew Lewis, Assistant Director of Development Services, provided a brief overview on <br />Implementing Planning, Form Based Codes. Expected outcomes include a financially viable <br />community; pedestrian friendly, multi-modal streets; sustainable development that incorporates <br />schools, shopping, housing, etc.; and a stable tax base. Implementation opportunities include the <br />downtown plan and linkages to Texas State University, key corridors, transitions to I-35, and <br />preservation of neighborhood integrity. <br />RM081809 Minutes Page 1
