Lydia Marie Trevino, Past <br />Executive Director of the Hispanic Chamber, stated she supports the Sister-City relationship with <br />Santiago, Mexico, and feels it would make an economic impact on our City and create a cultural <br />exchange. Chuck Tabor, stated he is a member of the Hispanic Chamber and went on the trip to <br />Santiago last summer. He stated he has a small business in San Marcos and established a <br />relationship with businesses in Santiago. He feels this relationship can help the citizens of San <br />Marcos. David Chiu, stated he also attended the trip to Santiago last summer and agrees the <br />relationship needs to be formalized. He believes this can be built-up gradually with work <br />between the schools and the children as well as businesses. Mr. Chill stated this relationship <br />needs closure and asked the Council for their support. Cecelia Montalvo, Executive Director of <br />the Hispanic Chamber, stated the relationship with Santiago, Mexico, needs closure and asked <br />for the City Council's support of the Sister City relationship. Jim Hennessee, Manager of Jim's <br />Gym, stated concerns regarding unfair competition between the activity center and the private <br />businesses. He suggested limited usage of aerobics, exercise equipment and racquetball courts. <br />He requested they increase youth activity programs. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration three appointments to the Airport Commission. <br />Mayor Moore moved to reappoint Wes Austin and appoint Richard Newman, which passed <br />unanimously. Mayor Moore asked the other appointment be made at the next Council meeting. <br />* Mr. Guerra present at 9:30 p.m. (Executive Session) for this meeting. <br />
