Domstead, Beth Morrisset, Peter <br />Brown, Susan Narvaiz, Joe Castillo, David Leder, Steven Hernandez, Phil Neighbors, Albert <br />Sierra, Linda Keese, Cliff Caskey and others. <br />Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />Mayor Moore introduced the ten-minute citizen comment period. There were no speakers. <br />Mayor Moore introduced a public hearing regarding an annexation, the caption which was read <br />as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, ANNEXING TO THE CITY A TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 4.566 <br />ACRES, MORE OR LESS, LOCATED ON THE SOUTHEAST SIDE OF THE 400 <br />BLOCK OF STAGECOACH TRAIL; APPROVING A SERVICE PLAN FOR THIS <br />TRACT; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. There were no <br />speakers so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and approval of the City Council <br />Budget Policy Statement for FY 1998-1999. Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked <br />if anyone wished to speak. George VonderLippe stated the goals for the budget statement <br />should be a challenge. He expressed infrastructure, transportation, street construction and <br />maintenance are the highest priorities for the Blue Ribbon Bond Committee. Mr. VonderLippe <br />explained the Bond Committee formed a sub-committee which proposed the City needs 107 <br />miles or 4.7 million dollars of street maintenance and curb or gutters.
