Catherine Glesener, stated <br />Police Chief Stephen Griffith telephoned her and sent a police officer to visit with her regarding <br />a stop sign on Columbia Street. The officer explained the Engineering Department does not feel <br />a traffic sign is warranted. Willow Glesener stated she cannot ride her bike on Columbia Street <br />because of the fast traffic and the large truck traffic. Sergio Rey stated he would like the City to <br />name a park in honor of "St. Mark's" to recognize "San Marcos Day". He suggested the eight <br />acres on Bobcat by the Fish Hatchery. Phil Hutchinson, Solid Rock Baptist Church, stated they <br />will be applying for a specific use permit to operate their church at Springtown Center and would <br />like the Council to see there is merit in locating in this area. Camille Phillips, representative of <br />Oak Heights, stated she would like the Council to support the adoption of cluster housing and <br />thanked the staff for their work. She stated she attended a seminar regarding "Golf Course <br />Zoning" without the golf course and would like the Council to pursue this type of zoning with <br />manufactured housing which would provide affordable housing. M.C. McFall, stated he would <br />like the Council to prevent development in the Schulle Canyon area. Tom Bonn withdrew his <br />name. William Cecrle and Pam Couch gave their time to Phil Hutchinson. Melody Weise <br />withdrew her name. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a board appointment to fill a vacancy on the Historic <br />Preservation Commission. Mayor Moore moved to appoint Bobbi Carmichael, which passed <br />unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a board appointment to fill a vacancy on the Central <br />Texas Higher Education Authority Board. Ms. Hughson moved to appoint Rosie Morris, which <br />passed unanimously.
