Sue Turney, the <br />representative for Highland Neighborhood Association, stated the <br />neighborhood is opposed to a rezoning within this single-family <br />neighborhood and provided copies of petitions from the neighbors opposing <br />same. The neighborhood wanted the Council to be aware of their opposition <br />to the zoning change when the Council goes into Executive Session <br />regarding the Highland Neighborhood area. (2) Carmen Adams, Vice <br />President of the Sierra Circle Neighborhood Association, stated they are <br />opposed to the incentive package (Executive Session item) and rezoning. <br />She stated it will not improve the quality of life in single-family <br />neighborhoods. She wants San Marcos to remain the wonderful town it is to <br />raise children and not to become a town of dorms. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of two appointments to <br />the Arts Commission to complete vacancies. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to <br />appoint Adela Rojo (out), Ms. Hughson moved to appoint Sergio Rey (in), <br />Mr. Doiron moved to appoint Juan Cuestas (in), and Mr. Hernandez moved to <br />appoint Daniel Guerrero (in).
