Taylor <br />Ron Patterson <br />Mark Brinkley <br />Steve Griffith <br /> <br />Others Present: Martha Tatum, Kyev Tatum, Beth Morrisset, Derrick Benn, Sarah Alvarez, <br />Garland Warren, Shaune Maycock, Paul Mayhew, Joanne Childress, John Holtermann, Ralph <br />Gonzales, Melissa Millecam, John McBride, William Tatsch, Ed Tarbutton, Dan Wegmiller, <br />Tom Wassenich, Mark Minnick, John Ferguson, Sherri Russell, Charles Swart, Isabel Garcia, <br />Saul Gonzales, and others. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tern Mihalkanin called the meeting to order at 7 :00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tem Mihalkanin introduced the ten-minute citizen comment period. 1. Ed Tarbutton <br />stated the Downtown Specific Use Permits should allow an owner to switch from a beer and <br />wine license to a mixed beverage license and if a business chooses to sell, the new owner should <br />be al1owed to change the name of the business and not have to be placed on the waiting list to <br />obtain a specific use permit. 2. Carrie Warren, Vice President of Marketing of Tanger, would <br />like to re-establish a partnership with the City of San Marcos. She stated there was an incredible <br />return investment of 5.2 million dollars last year, which was up 5% from the previous year. 3. <br />Teresa Santerre Hobby stated she resides at 1231 W. San Antonio Street and would like a hike <br />and bike trail to Dorie Miller and Hernandez schools to be established. There needs to be a safer <br />route for the children to and from school because the traffic has increased on Hunter Road after <br />the two schools were built. Ms. Hobby stated her son currently attends Hernandez School and <br />thought that purchasing a bike helmet for the children would be safe enough, but she <br />reconsidered and is currently driving the children to and from school. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro- Tem Mihalkanin introduced for consideration one appointment to the Human <br />Development Commission. Ms. Hughson moved to appoint Sue McCullough as a representative <br />of the ETJ, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tern Mihalkanin introduced for consideration one appointment to the Drainage <br />Advisory Board. Mr. Doiron did not have a nomination at this time and this will be rescheduled <br />for April 10, 2000. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tem Mihalkanin introduced for consideration one appointment to the San Marcos <br />Industrial Development Corporation. Ms. Hughson moved to appoint Paul Neilson to fill a <br />vacancy, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tern Mihalkanin introduced for consideration three appointments to the Senior <br />Citizens Advisory Board. There were no nominations at this time and will be rescheduled for <br />April 10, 2000. <br /> <br />*Mayor Billy G. Moore not present at this meeting. <br />
