<br />Mayor Craddock called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
<br />
<br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of the minutes
<br />of the Regular Meeting held April 26, 1982. Mr. Brown moved to ap-
<br />prove the minutes and Mrs. Mendez seconded the motion, which passed
<br />unanimously.
<br />
<br />Mr. George Human of Freese and Nichols then made a presentation on
<br />the progress made on the San Marcos Wastewater Treatment System Im-
<br />provements, stating the Texas Department of Water Resources had ap-
<br />proved the facility plan and the Environmental Protection Agency
<br />would approve it this week, subject to a 30-day waiting period for
<br />public comment. The facility plan will provide system rehabilitation
<br />and capacity expansion. A written status report on the plan is at-
<br />tached to these minutes.

<br />Tess Norris moved that this matter be presented to the Council for
<br />approval as soon as EPA approved the same and Mr. Brown seconded
<br />the motion, which passed unanimously.
<br />
<br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of four appoint-
<br />ments to the Environmental Advisory Board. Five names were given to
<br />the City Secretary for the four appoinments prior to the Council Meet-
<br />ing. Mrs. Norris moved that all five names be placed in nomination
<br />for 'the Council's consideration: Dr. Wiilard Young (eligible for
<br />reappointment); Mrs. Betty Rodriguez; Dr. Ed Merrick (eligible for
<br />reappointment); Frances Emery (eligible for reappointment) and Carlos
<br />Tijerina, and Mrs. Mendez seconded the motion, which passed unanimous-
<br />ly. On roll call the following vote was recorded:

<br />Dr. Young, received 7 votes, Mrs. Emery received 7 votes, Mr. Tijerina
<br />received 7 votes, Dr. Merrick received 4 votes and Mrs. Rodriguez re-
<br />ceived 3 votes, making Dr. Young, Mrs. Emery, Mr. Tijerina and Dr.
<br />Merrick the four members of the Environmental Advisory Board.
