21 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUGUST 26, 1991 PRESENT: Mayor Kathy M. Morris Mayor Pro-Tem Ronald K. Hart Council Members Billy G. Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF THE CITY, FROM PERMANENT OPEN SPACE AND/OR FLOODPLAIN TO LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL FOR LOT 10, BLOCK 1, OF THE DAN MCKIE ADDITION NO.1 TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, LOCATED AT 743 GRAVEL STREET AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak for or against the land use amendment. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Hart seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF THE CITY, FROM INDUSTRIAL TO PUBLIC FOR 11.98 ACRES OF LAND OUT OF THE J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO.1 IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, LOCATED AT 2300 IH35 SOUTH AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak for or against the land use amendment. Police Chief Tom Martin stated they are in support of the land use amendment, and this is the property to be used for the Police Headquarters and Training Facility. No one else wished to speak, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: * Mr. Taylor not present at this meeting.
