G. <br />Phillips, Jane Wilson, Martha Latta, Eddy Etheredge, Aart <br />Millecam, George VonderLippe and others. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of appointment <br />to Main Street Advisory Board. Mr. Plummer moved to appoint Mimi <br />Ibarra to complete a vacancy and Mr. Hernandez seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously (Mr. Hart present at 7:35 p.m.). <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced a presentation and request for funding <br />for Keep Hays County Beautiful. Monica Davidson and Joe Ptak <br />reviewed with Council a written presentation. They were basing <br />their proposal on a population of 50,000, and Mr. Moore advised <br />them the County is currently using 66,000 as the population <br />total. The group is requesting $4,000 funding from the City of <br />San Marcos, $5,000 from Hays County and $1,000 from Buda. Mr. <br />Moore sugge.st-ed the group contact the Chamber of Commerce <br />subcommittees on Beautification and Natur.al Resources. Collette <br />Boruff stated the Keep America Beautiful Program provides <br />educational information to young students and encourages the <br />adoption of Ordinances that would reduce wastes. Mayor Morris <br />stated she would like to review a complete budget proposal and <br />that this would require a budget amendment if approved. Mr. ptak <br />advised the Council grants had been applied for to help fund. <br />Mr. Moore stated the Keep America Beautiful program requires much <br />effort to retain certification once it is acquired. The Council <br />requested a complete budget proposal be provided to Mr. Gilley <br />along with a plan of action for the Council's review. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced a presentation regarding Hays County <br />Community Recycling Project Proposal to Evaluate Solid Waste <br />Handling Options. Joe ptak reviewed with Council a written <br />proposal. Mr. Ptak requested the City of San Marcos provide <br />$4,000 and is requesting a contribution of $5,000 from Hays <br />County and $1,000 from the City of Buda for a complete study <br />regarding recycling. Mr. ptak stated the study could be <br />performed at an estimated cost of $9,000. The Council requested <br />more detailed financial information regarding this program and <br />advised that the City is in the process of reviewing recycling <br />programs for the City~ <br /> <br />* Mr. Hart present at 7:35 p.m. <br />
