44 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, MAY 29, 1990 PRESENT: Mayor Kathy M. Morris Mayor Pro-Tern Billy G. Womack City Attorney Mark Taylor Director of Public Works George Boeker Fire Chief Dan O'Leary Police Chief Tom Martin Director of Planning Mary Martinez Director of Personnel Carolyn Liner Director of Library Stephanie Langenkamp Director of Parks and Recreation Rodney Cobb Also Present: Melissa Millecam, John DeMoor, Jane Hughson, R. G. Phillips, Jim Gandy, Rick Fisher, Monty Nitchalous, Nina Pryatel, Kelly Franks, Carol Hearn, Jack Lindstrom, Jenny Kile, Collette Boruff, Bill Liddle, Joe Cox, Jesse Estrada, George Boemerman and others. Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Morris introduced for conside~ation approval of an appointment to complete a vacancy on the Historic Preservation Commission. Mayor Morris on behalf of Bill Plummer moved to appoint Carol Arguien as the San Antonio Street District Representative to the Historic Preservation Commission, and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to complete a vacancy on the Senior Citizens Advisory Board. Mr. Moore moved to appoint Dr. Martin Juel, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of four appointments to the Ethics Review Commission. Mr. Hernandez moved to appoint Lorenzo Rodriguez and appoint Juanita Colon, Mayor Morris moved to appoint Duane Thomason and Ms. Kissler moved to appoint Karl Brown, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON SEPTEMBER 25, 1989, WHICH CREATED AN AD HOC STEERING COMMITTEE TO STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF ESTABLISHING A PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF APPOINTED REPRESENTATIVES FROM 14 TO 15 BY THE ADDITION OF SOUTHWEST TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY'S ASSOCIATED STUDENT GOVERNMENT PRESIDENT AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Hernandez moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Hart seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration an appointment to the Public Transportation Committee. Mr. Guerra moved to appoint John Demaree, President of the Associated Student Government of SWTSU and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. * Mr. Plummer was present at 8:15 p.m.
