Watson and others. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an appointment <br />to the Cemetery Commission. Mayor Morris moved to appoint Helen <br />VanGundy, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an appointment <br />to the Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals. Mr. Guerra moved to <br />appoint Vance Winn, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an appointment <br />to the San Marcos Electric Utility. Mayor Morris moved to reappoint <br />Mary Borm, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an appointment <br />to complete a vacancy on the Central Texas Higher Education <br />Authority. Mr. Moore moved to appoint Gilbert Conoley. Mr. Bob <br />Martenis of CTHEA requested the Council table this. matter to give <br />the Board time to present a banker's name to the Council for <br />consideration. He said the Board felt a banker or someone with <br />financial background was needed, and there has not been a banker on <br />the board since Noble Hayden left the Board. Mr. Moore stated he <br />would hold Mr. Conoley's name in abeyance if it was the pleasure of <br />the Council. The Council agreed to consider this vacancy on <br />September 10. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing on an <br />annexation, the caption of the Ordinance which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, ANNEXING TO THE CITY A TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 50.158 <br /> ACRES, MORE OR LESS, FRONTING ON THE SOUTHEAST RIGHT-OF-WAY <br /> LINE OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 35 AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH CENTER <br /> POINT ROAD IN HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, THIS LAND BEING LOCATED <br /> WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE CITY AND LYING <br /> ADJACENT TO PRESENT CITY BOUNDARIES; APPROVING A SERVICE PLAN <br /> FOR THIS TRACT; EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY SO AS <br /> TO INCLUDE THIS TRACT; GRANTING TO THE INHABITANTS OF THIS <br /> TRACT ALL THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF THE <br /> CITY; BINDING THE INHABITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND <br /> ORDINANCES, RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />
