I I I 81 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN I-1ARCOS, TEX1\S, APRIL 16, 1979 Present: Mayor Pro Tempore Bob Hyatt Council Members Ted Breihan John A. Hansen Berry R. James Kenneth E. Sutton Gilbert G. Cavazos Mayor Also Present: Corina Jaimes, Bonnie Fleming, Chris Bishop, Jerri Martin, Fred Guerra, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Slaughter, Jeff Watkins, David Munger, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Roberts, Ramiro Lugo, Chris McIntyre, Austin Curlee, and others. The Mayor Pro Tern called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Hyatt issued a proclamation in observance of the International Year of the Young Child. The minutes of the Special Meeting held April 9 were introduced for consideration. Mr. Hansen moved the minutes be approved. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: James, Breihan, Hansen NAY: None ABSTAIN: Sutton, Tenorio, Hyatt. Due to the fact that there were not four members who could vote for approval of the minutes, the matter was deferred until the next regular meeting. The minutes of the Regular Meeting held April 9th were approved on motion of Mr. James and second of Mr. Hansen. Council Members next drew for new place numbers as required by the Charter amendment to Section 3.01. A copy of that amendment is attached and made a part of these minutes. The results of the drawing are as follows: Place for which the member will assume the position of Mayor to be elected in the regular Election April 5, 1980 Kenneth E. Sutton, Place #1 Ted Breihan, Place #2 John A. Hansen (term will',expire ih ]980), Plcace '#3"Bob'Hyatt, Place #4 Gilbert G. Tenorio (term expires 1981), Place #5 Berry R. James, Place #6 Robert L. Cavazos (term expires in 1982). The Mayor Pro Tern read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS-, TEXAS', AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHI:CH.: REGU,,-, LATES AND RESTRICTS' THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS', STRUCTURES AND LAND" DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL., 32[ BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF 4.4 ACRES IN J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE #2, LOCATED ON CHEATHAM STREET, FROM "P" (PUBLIC) TO "c" (COMMERCIAL), Mr. Hansen moved the ordinance be approved on second reading~ Mr. Breihan seconded the motion which passed unanimously.,
