I I I 88 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APRIL 23, 1979 Present: Mayor Robert L. Cavazos Council Members Ted Breihan John A. Hansen Bob Hyatt Berry R. James Kenneth E. Sutton Gilbert Tenorio City Manager City Secretary City Attorney Director of Finance Director of Public Works Royal Dunlap Doriss Hambrick Barbara Jean Edwards Earl T. Williams Ray Kotowski Also Present: Jerry Moore, Fred Guerra, Richard Pustejovsky, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Pryatel, Wayne Moore, Terry Roberts, Joe Nicola, Kenneth Long, David Munger, Jeff Watkins, Chris Bishop, Jerri Martin, Ed Slaughter, Lim Cox, and others. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Cavazos issued a proclamation in observance of the 48th anniversary of the Founding of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. The minutes of the regular meeting held Monday, April 16, 1979 were approved on motion of Mr. James and second of Mr. Hansen with Mr. Cavazos abstaining from the vote. The minutes of the special meeting held April 9, 1979 were approved on motion of Mr. James and second of Mr. Breihan with Council Members Hyatt, Sutton, and Tenorio abstaining from the vote. The Mayor introduced for consideration appointments to various Boards and Committees. Mr. Hyatt moved that the Council go into executive session to discuss the nominations. The motion died for lack of a second. Mayor Cavazos nominated Mr. Frank T. Arredondo to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Becky Sierra from the Central Texas Higher Education Authority. Mr. Breihan nominated Mr. Jerry Moore, On roll call, the following vote was recorded: ) MOORE: Breihan, Hyatt ARREDONDO: Cavazos, James, Sutton, Tenorio, Hansen. Mr. Arredondo was declared the appointment to the Central Texas Higher Education Authority. Mr. Breihan moved to appoint Dr. Kenneth Long to fill an unexpired term created by the resignation of Council Member Gilbert Tenorio from the Environmental' Advisory Committee. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Mr. Hyatt moved to reappoint Mr. Joe Nicola and Mr. Richard Pustejovsky to the Building Code Board of Appeals. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows:'...... AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN. MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGU- LATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF 4.4 ACRES IN J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE #2, LOCATED ON CHEATHAM STREET, FROM "P" (PUBLIC) TO "C" (COMMERCIAL). Mr. Hansen moved the ordinance be adopted on third and final reading. Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
