Backus; Ruben Meeks; Amos Murray; Elmer Satterwhite; Jack Stovall, <br />Allyn Gill; Jake Krauskopf; Terry Roberts; and others. <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held January 10, 1977 were approved on motion <br />of Mr. Hansen and second.,of Mr. Cavazos. The Minutes of the Special Meeting held <br />January 17,1977 were approved on motion of Mr. Breihan and second of Mr. Hansen. <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved to reappoint Mrs. Amelia Cruz and Mrs. Frances. Em~ry and to appoint <br />Mrs. Rose Arredondo to the Senior Citizens Advisory Board. Mr.;c Hansen seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved to appoint Mr. Frank E. Arredondo to the Housing Authority Board. <br />Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Arredondo moved to reappoint Lunelle Anderson and Alex Flores and to appoint <br />Gilbert Conoley and Merry K. FitzPatrick to the Parks and Recreation Board. <br />Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. James moved to appoint Diane Cliett to the Fair Housing Commission. Mr. Hansen <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration and opened a Public Hearing to consider a <br />request for a change in the zoning of Lots 2 through 9, Block 1 of the W.S. Smith <br />Addition from "P-2" to "R-l'! (single family residential). The applicant, Mr.. O.C. <br />Smith, was present to request the change. There were no objections received. The <br />Mayor closed the hearing and read an ordinance having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF.DTHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS <br />THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY <br />23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 <br />AND 8, BLOCK 1 OF THE W.S. SMITH ADDITION, LOCATED AT 736 SMITH <br />AVENUE, FROM "P-2" (PUBLIC) TO "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL). <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. Hansen seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a change in the zoning <br />of Lots 24 and 25 of the Municipal Airport Subdivision from "c" to "C-2". Present <br />to represent the applicant, Knights of Columbus, was David Hernandez. Councilman <br />Cavazos presented the request. There were no objections received.
