I I I 49 MINUTES OF TIlE REGUlAR MEETING OF TIlE CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, FEBRUARY 13, 1978 Present: Frank T. Arredondo Mayor Council Members Ted Breihan Robert L. Evans Warren Leddick Ray Kotowski Charles Wmmus Also Present: Gary Bond, Alan King, Bob Hyatt, David Morrison, Frances Emery, Jeff Ebner, Helen Mott, Rosalio Tobias, Johnnie Armstead, 'Ora Jean Young:. Bill Nicola, Rodgers Storey, Norman Jackson, Jeff Franks, Marvin Kaderli, Mary Salinas, Gene Majors, J. G. Warren, Ron Champion, Jake Krauskopf, Donna Throckmorton, and others. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m. Mr. Arredondo issued proclamations in observance of the WLAC organization and Black Awareness Week. The minutes of the regular meeting held February 6, 1978 were unanimously approved on motion of Dr. Craddock and second of Mr. Hansen. Municipal Court Judge Ronald D. Champion came before the Council with a discussion on operations of the municipal court. The City Manager also reported to the Council on those operations. His report is attached and made a part of these minutes. Following that discussion, the Mayor read the caption of a resolution as follows: A RESOLUTION OF TIlE CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, 'I'EXAS, APPROVING APPOIN1MENT OF TIlE CITY ATTORNEY AND ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY AS ASSISTANT DISTRICT A'ITORNEYS FOR TIlE PURPOSE OF ASSISTING TIlE DISTRICT ATTORNEY PROSECUTE CASES APPFALED FROM TIlE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL COURT TO TIlE HAYS COUNTY-COURT-AT-LAW, SAID APPROVAL BEING EFFECTIVE FOR AN EVAWATION PERIOD EXTENDING 'THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 1978. Mr. Breilian moved the resolution be adopted. Dr. Craddock seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The Mayor armounced that scheduled Agenda Item #5, discussion of a proposed exchange of land between Southwest Texas State University and the City, had been removed from the agenda pending further study. The Mayor reported that he had received a petition from students at Bowie Elementary School regarding their request for park facilities. The petition was filed with the City Secretary. The Mayor"read the caption of a resolution as follows: A RESOLUTION OF TIlE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, 'I'EXAS, SUPPORTING AN APPLICATION MADE BY HAYS COUNTY FOR FUNDING UNDER THE YOUNG ADULT CONSERVATION CORPS PROGRAM AND EXPRESSING TIlE CITY'S INTENT TO PARTICIPATE IN SAID PROGRAM . Mr. Sutton moved the resolution be adopted. Mr. Cavazos seconded the JIK:>tion which passed unanimously.
