Warren, Ron Champion, Jake Krauskopf, Donna <br />Throckmorton, and others. <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Arredondo issued proclamations in observance of the WLAC organization and <br />Black Awareness Week. <br /> <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held February 6, 1978 were unanimously <br />approved on motion of Dr. Craddock and second of Mr. Hansen. <br /> <br />Municipal Court Judge Ronald D. Champion came before the Council with a <br />discussion on operations of the municipal court. The City Manager also reported <br />to the Council on those operations. His report is attached and made a part of <br />these minutes. Following that discussion, the Mayor read the caption of a <br />resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF TIlE CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />'I'EXAS, APPROVING APPOIN1MENT OF TIlE CITY ATTORNEY AND <br />ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY AS ASSISTANT DISTRICT A'ITORNEYS FOR <br />TIlE PURPOSE OF ASSISTING TIlE DISTRICT ATTORNEY PROSECUTE <br />CASES APPFALED FROM TIlE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL COURT TO TIlE <br />HAYS COUNTY-COURT-AT-LAW, SAID APPROVAL BEING EFFECTIVE FOR <br />AN EVAWATION PERIOD EXTENDING 'THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 1978. <br /> <br />Mr. Breilian moved the resolution be adopted. Dr. Craddock seconded the motion <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor armounced that scheduled Agenda Item #5, discussion of a proposed <br />exchange of land between Southwest Texas State University and the City, had <br />been removed from the agenda pending further study. <br /> <br />The Mayor reported that he had received a petition from students at Bowie <br />Elementary School regarding their request for park facilities. The petition <br />was filed with the City Secretary. <br /> <br />The Mayor"read the caption of a resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF TIlE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />'I'EXAS, SUPPORTING AN APPLICATION MADE BY HAYS COUNTY FOR <br />FUNDING UNDER THE YOUNG ADULT CONSERVATION CORPS PROGRAM <br />AND EXPRESSING TIlE CITY'S INTENT TO PARTICIPATE IN SAID <br />PROGRAM . <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved the resolution be adopted. Mr. Cavazos seconded the JIK:>tion <br />which passed unanimously. <br />
