I I I 81 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS. TEXAS, MARCH 6, 1978 Present: Frank T, Arredondo Mayor Council Members Ted Breihan Robert L. Cavazos Ennnie Craddock John A. Hansen Berry R. James Kenneth E. Sutton City Manager City Secretary City Attorney Director of Public Works Director of Finance Director of Connnunity Development C. J. Webster Doriss Hambrick Charles E. Evans Ray Kotowski Earl T. Williams Albert Sierra Also Present: Terry Roberts, John Cunningham, Roy Porter, James E. Byrn, Isom Hale, Bob Hyatt, Alan King, Jeff Ebner, Jeff Franks, Nancy Foster, Dempsey Serur, Gary Bond, Charles Stone, B. F. Davidson and others. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Arredondo issued a proclamation in observance of National Nutrition Week. By common consent, the Council agreed to consider a resolution out of order on the agenda; the Mayor read the resolution having the following caption: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING EXPLORER POST #120 FOR ITS DEDICATION AND CONTRI- BUTION TO COMMUNITY SERVICE. Mr. Breihan moved the resolution be adopted. Mr. James seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The minutes of the regular meeting held February 27 and the special meeting held March 1, 1978, were approved on motion of Dr. Craddock and second of Mr. Hansen. The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE PRICE AND CONDITIONS OF THE SALE BY THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OF ALL OF LOT 5 AND A PORTION OF LOT 4, BLOCK 2, IN THE KATY ADDITION FURTHER DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN ATTACHED "EXHIBIT A", LOCATED WITHIN THE TEX. A-6, NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM AREA TO JAMES M. HARRISON AND LEWIS E. HARRISON, JR.; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A WARRANTY DEED TO JAMES M. HARRISON AND LEWIS E. HARRISON, JR.; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Dr. Craddock moved the ordinance be adopted on third and final reading. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion which passed unanimously, The Mayor read a resolution having the following caption: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN EARNEST MONEY CONTRACT FOR THE SALE OF URBAN RENEWAL PARCEL 1-1 TO W. R. SKIPPING, TRUSTEE, FOR THE USE OF BALCONES SAVINGS ASSOCIATION AND AUTHORIZING MAYOR FRANK T. ARREDONDO TO EXECUTE SAME ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
